Christopher J. Lavery


Chris Lavery is an immigration attorney from Belfast, Northern Ireland with strong ties to the Irish community in the New England area. Lavery is well known because of his many years of providing legal advice to immigrants at regular free legal clinics throughout New England. After working with several immigration law firms in the Boston area. In 2007, Lavery began a partnership that founded Sedna Law, P.C. before opening his solo practice in 2010. Lavery's practice has received significant community recognition over the years for its compassionate approach to immigration representation.

Lavery is a graduate with Honors from Portobello College, Dublin, Ireland (LLB) and from Boston College Law School (JD). He also holds a Doctorate of Laws (LLD) (honoris causa) from St. Anselm's College, New Hampshire.

Lavery has spoken on immigration issues before the Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers and the American Immigration Lawyers' Association. He has also contributed articles on immigration practice to the publications of those organizations. In recognition of his non-profit work, Lavery is the recipient of the Charitable Irish Society's Silver Key Award, the Irish Immigration Center's Appreciation Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service, and the PAIR Project's Detention Attorney Award. Lavery is also a past chair of the Irish Pastoral Centre. He was recognized in 2011 in the Irish Echo's "40 under 40."

Andy Dejean, J.D.


Andy is the paralegal for the Law Offices of C.J. Lavery and also acts at the interpreter for our French and French Creole speaking clients. Andy has worked with Chris for over 12 years and is a graduate of Massachusetts School of Law (JD). Andy has a passion for immigration law and also looks forward to including the criminal law field as one of his future practice areas once he is sworn in as an attorney in Massachusetts (expected 2019).

JoAnn A. Dodge

JoAnn Dodge is an Of Counsel Attorney associated with the Law Offices of C. J. Lavery. JoAnn interned with the office during law school. After her internship, JoAnn began working for another immigration firm where she became the Office Supervisor. JoAnn has had extensive experience writing motions, appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and appeal briefs to the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in the field of Immigration Law. 

JoAnn works primarily for her own practice, Dodge Law, P.C., focusing on family matters including educational advocacy,  landlord and tenant disputes, estate planning, probate, immigration, small business set up, divorce and custody issues.
